Route notes
Why this routing works
This routing keeps the long-haul flying focused on a simple round-trip structure: Jackson outbound to Kilimanjaro, then Zanzibar back to Jackson. The Tanzania portion is split between an international arrival at Kilimanjaro and a separate departure from Zanzibar, which creates an open-jaw in the middle of the trip while preserving a single overall return to the original starting point.
Because Zanzibar is reached overland from Kilimanjaro, this itinerary works best for travelers who want the flight plan to handle the intercontinental sectors while leaving the in-country transfer flexible. That setup can reduce backtracking, since the return flight departs from a different point in Tanzania than the arrival.
At two weeks, timing is tight enough that the routing benefits from straightforward sequencing and minimal extra stops beyond the core plan. October departure timing places the trip in the October to December season window, and the premium economy cabin positions it as a more comfortable long-haul option within a midrange round-trip budget.
