Route notes
Why this routing works
This 12-week routing moves steadily east from Ottawa through the Middle East, South Asia and Southeast Asia before looping back to Canada from Kuala Lumpur. The sequence keeps the long-haul structure simple: Ottawa to Amman, then onward to Muscat, Kochi, Colombo, Paro and Singapore, followed by an open segment to Langkawi and a final flight from Kuala Lumpur back to Ottawa.
Stop lengths are relatively even through the core of the trip, with 15 nights in Amman, 13 in Muscat, 12 in Kochi, 15 in Colombo and 12 in Paro. That pacing makes this itinerary better suited to travelers who want fewer flight days and longer stays at each stop, rather than a fast-moving round-the-world plan. The final section is shorter, with 4 nights in Singapore before the Malaysia portion and the trip home.
Ticketing-wise, the Singapore to Langkawi break is handled as an overland or separate on-the-ground segment, which creates flexibility in how to move between those points without forcing another flight coupon into the main ticket. The return is then anchored from Kuala Lumpur, so the Malaysia section works as a clean end-of-trip finish before heading back to Ottawa.
With economy pricing from USD 3,833 to USD 5,017 and departure in March, this is a long-duration multi-stop itinerary built around multiple medium-length stays rather than dense connection chains. It is a good example of how an open segment can be inserted near the end of a trip while keeping the overall routing coherent and the international ticket structure straightforward.
