Why this routing works
This is a straightforward two-week economy routing built as an open jaw in Vietnam. The ticket flies from Sacramento into Ho Chi Minh City, leaves the ground segment between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to be done overland, and then resumes with the return flight from Hanoi back to Sacramento.
Using the overland segment avoids backtracking within the same country and keeps the trip moving in one direction. For a short schedule like two weeks, that can be a practical way to link two gateways on one ticket without forcing a round trip in and out of the same city.
