Route notes
Why this routing works
This 6-week economy itinerary is built as a west-to-east multi-stop routing: San Diego to Paris, Vienna, Cape Town, New Delhi, Tokyo, and back to San Diego. The sequencing keeps the trip moving in one broad direction rather than backtracking, with each long-haul sector setting up the next region.
Within South Africa, the route uses an overland gap between Cape Town and Johannesburg instead of a flight coupon. That keeps the ticket focused on the long-haul sectors while still allowing two South African stops in the overall plan. From Johannesburg, the itinerary resumes by air to New Delhi, then continues to Tokyo before the final transpacific return to San Diego.
As ticketed, this is a true multi-stop itinerary rather than a simple round-trip with side add-ons. It combines Europe, Africa, South Asia, and East Asia in a single economy plan, which is useful when the goal is to link several distant cities under one coordinated routing. With departure in August, the schedule fits within the stated July-September travel window.
