Route notes
Why this routing works
This 21-week economy itinerary strings together a long arc across Asia rather than doubling back. It opens with a transpacific flight into Bangkok, then uses a series of short surface gaps and regional flights to keep moving east and north before the final Hong Kong-Toronto return.
The route mixes flown sectors with five overland transitions: Bangkok to Phuket, Siem Reap to Phnom Penh, Quy Nhon to Ho Chi Minh City, Okinawa to Tokyo, Cheju to Seoul, and Beijing to Hong Kong. That structure reduces the need for extra backtracking flights while preserving a clear onward sequence through each country cluster.
The longest stays sit in the middle of the trip, with 11 nights in Kota Kinabalu, 17 in Denpasar Bali, 13 in Okinawa, and 14 in Tokyo. Those longer pauses break up the routing after the faster mainland Southeast Asia segments and before the final Korea-China-Hong Kong run back toward the transpacific flight home.
