Route notes
Why this routing works
This is a compact round-trip built around one open-jaw in the Caucasus: fly from Washington DC to Baku, travel overland to Erevan, then fly back to Washington DC. That structure avoids backtracking and fits well when the ground segment between the two cities is part of the plan.
At roughly two weeks total, the routing is short enough to keep connections and transfer fatigue manageable while still allowing time on the ground between the two flight sectors. Because the trip starts and ends in Washington DC, ticketing is straightforward from a single home gateway, with the overland portion clearly separated from the air itinerary.
Business class changes the pacing on a relatively short international trip like this, especially with a long outbound and return. September departure timing places the itinerary in the late-summer period provided, which can be useful when planning a fixed two-week window around a simple out-and-back structure with one non-flight segment.
