Primary hub is Beijing Capital (PEK). Beijing Daxing (PKX) is not currently used by Air China. Star Alliance member. Minimum connection time at PEK is 120 minutes (international) and 90 minutes (domestic). Largest Chinese carrier by international routes. Secondary hubs at Chengdu (CTU/TFU) and Shanghai (PVG). Extensive domestic Chinese network.

Operational Issues
PEK is one of the world's busiest airports with frequent ATC delays and slot restrictions. Beijing smog and weather can cause significant delays. Chinese airspace is heavily military-controlled, causing routine delays. Long taxi times at PEK. Transit visa rules for connecting through China can be complex. 144-hour transit visa exemption available for many nationalities. Fleet includes 747-8, A350, 777-300ER, and 787 for long-haul.
