Where the search boxes stop

Most flight search tools cap a multi-city trip at five or six flights

That ceiling is a limit of the booking form, and it is why a genuinely complex trip has to be split into searches that cannot see each other.

What goes wrong past a couple of stops

The search box runs out of rows

Five or six legs is the ceiling on every mainstream tool. A trip with eight cities has to be split into two searches that cannot see each other, and neither one can price the whole thing.

There is no way to say you took the train

Fly into Lisbon, train to Madrid, fly on to Cairo. No OTA multi-city form can express that gap, so you end up booking two separate trips and paying two separate one-way premiums.

Round-the-world fares are invisible

Alliance and published round-the-world fares are not sold through a consumer search box. On a long routing they are often the cheapest answer, and the tools that cap you at six legs will never show you one.

Nobody checks the order

Which direction you fly, where you break the trip and which city you enter a region through can move the price by four figures. That judgment is what a specialist adds and what an algorithm on a five-row form cannot.

How booking a multi-city trip with us works

01

Build the route

Type the cities in the order you want them. Drag to reorder. Mark any sector you plan to cover by train, bus or boat, and we price the flights around it.

02

Get a real price

TripPlanner returns an estimate for the whole itinerary, priced as one trip. No stitching together six one-ways and hoping the total works.

03

A specialist takes it from there

Someone who books complex international routings for a living checks the fare construction, tries the alternatives you would not think to try, and sends back what they found.
