Operational notes
Hub and Connections
Primary hub at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK). Secondary hub at Samui (USM), which Bangkok Airways owns and operates as a private airport. Key routes: BKK-USM, BKK-SUK (Sukhothai, also PG-owned airport), BKK-TDX (Trat, also PG-owned). Regional routes to REP (Siem Reap), PNH, LPQ, RGN. Minimum connection time at BKK is 90 minutes. Codeshare agreements with many carriers including BA, QF, EK, and JL.
Baggage and Interline
Interline baggage agreements with most major carriers at BKK. Bags check through on codeshare tickets. USM is a small airport so bag handling is fast but bags must be reclaimed if connecting to a separately ticketed flight. Weight-based baggage system (not piece-based) on PG-ticketed flights.
Terminal Notes
At BKK, PG operates from the domestic terminal for domestic flights and international terminal for international flights. PG provides complimentary lounge access to all passengers at BKK (Blue Ribbon Lounge) and at USM. This is a major differentiator from LCCs. Samui (USM) airport is open-air with a distinctive tropical design. USM has no jet bridges.
Operational Notes
Fleet is A319/A320 for most routes and ATR 72 for shorter hops. PG owns and operates three airports (USM, TDX, SUK), giving it monopoly on those routes. Samui is the only privately owned commercial airport in Thailand. PG is positioned as a boutique full-service carrier, not an LCC. Meals and lounge access included in all fares.
