Hub and Connections
Hub is Dubai (DXB), Terminal 2 for most flights, though some routes now operate from Terminal 3 alongside Emirates. Minimum connection time is 90 minutes (120 minutes if connecting between T2 and T3). Low-cost carrier but with integrated connections to Emirates. Over 100 destinations, mostly secondary cities in Middle East, Central Asia, Africa, and Eastern Europe.
Baggage
Baggage is fare-dependent. Lite fares include carry-on only. Bags check through to Emirates on codeshare connections when booked on a single ticket. If booked separately, passengers must collect and re-check bags. flydubai uses weight-based system for checked bags (20kg, 30kg, 40kg tiers).
Terminal Notes
Terminal 2 at DXB is the older, smaller terminal. Limited lounge options compared to Terminal 3. Business class passengers get lounge access in T2. When operating from T3, flydubai passengers can use Emirates lounges (Business class only). Transfer between T2 and T3 requires a shuttle bus and re-screening.
Operational Issues
All-737 fleet (737 MAX 8 and 737-800). Some routes serve airports with challenging approaches. Increasing integration with Emirates means schedules are coordinated. Red-eye flights are common given the hub timing. Seat pitch in economy is tight at 29-30 inches.
