Operational notes

Hub and Connections

Primary hub at Santiago (SCL). Also operates from Buenos Aires (EZE), Lima (LIM), and Colombian cities. Chilean ultra-low-cost carrier with growing South American network. Strictly point-to-point; no connection protection or through-ticketing. Acquired by American Airlines Group in 2024. No minimum connection time concept as all flights are sold as standalone segments.

Baggage

No interline baggage agreements. Bags never check through to other carriers. All checked baggage is a paid add-on. Self-connecting passengers must collect, exit, re-check in, and go through security again.

Terminal Notes

SCL: Terminal 1 (domestic) and Terminal 2 (international) at Arturo Merino Benitez Airport. No lounge access. No priority boarding unless purchased as add-on.

Operational Notes

Fleet is A320/A320neo. Single-class, high-density seating (186 seats typical). Everything is unbundled: seats, bags, food, priority. Limited GDS availability; best to book direct at jetsmart.com. Frequent schedule changes and route adjustments. Growing rapidly across South America.
