Route notes
Why this routing works
This six-week economy round-the-world itinerary runs westbound from Paris across the United States and the Pacific before turning back through East and Southeast Asia to Europe. The flown sectors are broken by two surface gaps: San Francisco to Los Angeles and Tokyo to Osaka, so the ticket does not require backtracking within either country.
The pacing is weighted toward a longer stay in Papeete, with 20 nights there, followed by a shorter final stretch through Japan and Da Nang, where the itinerary allows 8 nights before the return to Paris. Using Los Angeles as the departure point after the California surface sector and Osaka as the departure point after the Japan surface sector keeps the long-haul flights focused on the intercontinental jumps rather than short internal repeats.
As ticketing logic, this is a clean RTW sequence: Europe to North America, onward to the South Pacific, then East Asia, Southeast Asia, and back to Europe. The overland sectors create open-jaw transitions inside California and Japan, which helps link the larger flight legs in a continuous direction rather than forcing returns to the arrival city.
